"The elf stepped out onto the weather deck and surveyed the battle. From within his robes, he drew an ironwood staff that shouldn't have been able to fit there.

    "He strode calmly across the deck, the staff spinning in his hands, his eyes darting from ship to ship. Finally, he picked his target - hands flying in a complicated dance of power and a nearby vessel exploded in a fiery burst, stopping dead and drifting through the void.

    "The elf turned his attention to the next ship, and it too burst into flames and began to drift."

Adovar

Adovar Oriven is a Sage and an Adjunct Professor of History at the Alliance Academy in the city of Citimeonen on Perianth. His first love is archeology, however, and he generally only spends a single season out of the year teaching.

    Adovar is not well liked in the Royal Courts of Fleuris, because of his stance on the prehistory of the 'Verse and his fascination with the ancient race known only as the Arcane.

    Adovar is a scion of House Yaeldrin, one of the Great Houses of Perianth that formed the Alliance, and which has since been reduced in esteem due to their clashing with official Alliance dogma and the House Elders' flagrant disregard for the law.

    Adovar uses his love for uncovering history and ancient lore as a cover for his campaign as an agent of the Harper's Guild. He was raised on the Yaeldrin Estates on Zakhar, and instilled with a deep hatred of those who would abuse power and neglect the powerless.

    His primary goal is to uncover irrefutable proof of the Arcane's development of early Spelljamming, and the role that played in shaping interplanetary politics. In the course of serving this end, Adovar is constantly on the lookout for the downtrodden and powerless, and keeping an eye open for any means to upset the balance of power wherever that power balance needs upsetting.
